    Description

    The Associate Broker oversees day-to-day placement and broking responsibilities for North American accounts including new business development; develops business relationships with producers and markets; negotiates with underwriters regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and existing programs; evaluates quotes, prepares marketing reports; manages pro-forma analysis information and distribution; assists regional teams with RFP and new business proposal development, and performs other duties as assigned.?

    The Role:

    • Manages brokerage responsibilities for a book of new and recurring casualty exposures
    • Leads broking communication efforts by e-mail, telephone, and written correspondence with underwriters and producers
    • Obtains and distributes information from client and/or producing office
    • Assists or may lead front end sales/RFP efforts
    • Prepares/oversees creation of proposals, submissions and quotes
    • Design and prepare analytics/modeling material for clients and offices
    • Evaluates and develops coverage confirmation for review
    • Reviews binders for accuracy and completeness
    • Sorts and distributes work assignments for developing brokers
    • Maintain and develop business relationships with client advocates, producers and senior underwriting contacts
    • Maintains knowledge of insurance carriers and their business practice
    • Participates in continuing education to maintain licensure and industry credentials

    Qualifications

    The Requirements:

    • Valid Property & Casualty license as required by state law, or ability to acquire appropriate licensing within 90 days of hire. Obtain Surplus Lines license within 180 days of hire.
    • Commercial P&C insurance knowledge/experience is required and previous success in client facing work strongly preferred.
    • 5+ years’ insurance experience in a similar job function or with similar processes is strongly preferred
    • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation skills and influence skills are critical.
    • Diligence review for Private Equity firms to include coverage review, analyzing risk, placement of new programs.?
    • Superior interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and clients in a collaborative team environment, both in-person and virtually.
    • Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and negotiation skills are a plus.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include phone conversation, email communication, and written presentations skills.
    • Technology acumen to adapt to multitude of technology-based systems (Epic, carrier online rating systems, Broking Platform, etc.)
    • Strong attention to detail and process orientation.
    • Time Management and Organizational Skills in the face of changing deadlines and workloads.
    • Ability to work independently, yet actively and appropriately engage the services provided by “extended team members” across the Shared Service Centers and Teams.
    • Problem solving abilities, including critical thinking, research, quantitative skills, creativity.
    • Basic to Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
    • Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC and ARM are advantageous.

    Compensation and Benefits
    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

    Compensation
    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
